A culturally rich & colorful celebration
In early June, at the charming Chanler off the Cliff Walk in Newport, team Stoneblossom brought to life the vibrant vision of C+A’s wedding day. In collaboration with Ashlie of Infinite Events, our team curated a design plan that completely encapsulated the couple and left a lasting impression on guests. An elegant array of blooms in peach, coral, apricot, mauve, and soft yellow made up the palette for our designs, to truly encompass this fusion of culture and two individuals coming together as one.
The celebration started the evening before the wedding day, at the Sangeet, where our favorite friend Ellie made her season debut! Ellie is a Stoneblossom staple, moss topiary elephant, who was dressed to the nines in vibrant hot-pink ribbons and florals. Dripping in jewels, and proudly wearing a whimsical floral headdress of fuchsia & magenta blooms, Ellie welcomed guests to the weekend’s celebrations in style. Accompanying Ellie, were petite pink garden arrangements that added pops of color throughout the Sangeet, only hinting at the explosion of exquisite florals to be expected at the wedding.
The following day, after dancing the night away, guests returned to see the couple married. In true Indian wedding tradition, hand-strung carnation and marigold garlands dripped from the mandap, symbolizing oneness, beauty, & happiness. The show-stopping mandap, draped with champagne chiffon, was picturesque with peachy roses, coral peonies, buttery butterfly ranunculus, and touches of soft blue blooms. Stationed for easy availability were stunning stone urns, filled with perfect rose petals, so that guests could shower the couple with roses as they returned down the aisle after saying “I do!”
After cocktails on the lawn, the party moved into the tent, where guests were met with a myriad of blooms, from floral-forward, layered centerpieces, to the fabulous focal point above the head-table. A 30’ trellis of dripping & draping garlands of carnations and marigolds created a canopy of blooms that dangled above the newly-weds. On the head table itself, our designers created the illusion of falling blooms on the cheesecloth runner, which started off with subtle spacing between the blossoms, and gradually got more lush as it reached the floor. Sparkling candlelight, and colorful taper candles added a wondrous glow to the whimsical design plan, and left everyone dreaming of flowers upon the evening’s end.
At Stoneblossom we love to work with all couples to curate a design plan that is specific to them, and truly tells their love story through the natural beauty & art of flowers. The recent wedding of C+A allowed us to get personal with the couple, while highlighting what was most important to them, and for that we are truly thankful to have been a part of their wedding story. As creatives, we welcome unique vision and personalized design plans, and are so excited to continue to bring floral dreams to life!
