Modern Romance at BPL

In Early August of 2023, our team traveled from our studio in Warren, RI for a breathtaking day in Boston, celebrating the marriage of K+C. From the chapel, that held sentimental value to the couple, to the larger than life lemon trees at cocktail hour, and the history-rich setting for the reception at the Boston Public Library, K+C worked with our team and their planner, Always Yours Events, to curate the most magnificent design plan, that we are still talking about to this day.

We combined modern elements, with timeless elegant design to create a sleek, yet romantic environment from beginning to end. Starting with the ceremony, guests were greeted with a stunning sight: the double arches of the chapel dressed in full-floral blooms, creating an organic, overgrown garden feel as they entered the church. Our designers used lush foliage and greens, along with wonderful white blooms of roses, hydrangea, and delphinium to create this impactful double arch. Inside the church, refined and romantic florals created a trio of arrangements, elevated on pedestals to frame the altar space, and the couple as they said their vows.

After the “I do”, the party moved over to the extraordinary Boston Public Library, where the exquisite detailing of this monumental landmark created the most magnificent setting for celebrating. Cocktail hour was hosted in the courtyard, where our team crafted two lemon trees that framed the bar, giving the impression that you were on the Amalfi coast. Petite terracotta compotes of greenery, organic blooms, and lemons added to the citrus-infused cocktail space. As guests moved upstairs for dinner, they ascended the Grand Staircase, which was dripping with delicate blooms of orchids, organic vines of greenery, and as much twinkling candlelight as you can imagine.

After the ethereal journey up the stairs, guests entered the beautiful Bates Room where dinner was served amongst the charming green glass library lamps, and a plethora of blooms and candlelight. For the existing tables in the space, we executed 3 unique tablescape concepts, in addition to the focal point of the head table. For our first tablescape concept, it was important to create height and interest across the room, so we adorned tables with two, tall, show-stopping arrangements, dripping with orchids, roses, hydrangea, and bouvardia. Modern, shining crystal candlesticks were tucked amongst the arrangements to add sparkle and shine. Our second table concept was lower to the table, and consisted of sleek, modern monobotanical arrangements in cut crystal vessels, and accompanying crystal candlesticks. Our final table concept was composed of spilling orchids in tall vases and sparkling candlelight to flood the tables in a warm glow. The attention to detail and consideration of varying heights of tablescapes created an overall “wow factor” when entering the room.

K+C had a clear cut vision of what their perfect wedding entailed: a clean and modern aesthetic, while honoring timeless wedding trends such as bountiful white blooms and elegant stems of orchids gracing every surface. Experiencing this vision come to fruition was a labor of love for our team, and we could not be happier with the execution of the final product.
