A Quintessential Coastal Wedding
On a sunny July Day, A+I joined together in matrimony in true New England style at Castle Hill Inn. The event vision was conceived in tandem with the couple and Lia Bancroft, to create a quintessential coastal ambience, perfectly suited for this sea-side soiree. The color palette was composed of soft whites, creams, and blues with accents of darker blue blossoms for a pop of contrast. Lush July blossoms were the star of the floral designs, including blue hydrangea, garden roses, and lysimachia. Vintage blue & white chinoiserie vases played host to the abundant, layered floral arrangements adding a touch of charm to the overall design.
Our designers adorned the arbor structure at Castle Hill with beautiful hydrangea, garden roses, and delphinium, creating a stunning square-shaped arbor that framed the couple as they said “I do”. Gorgeous blue and white aisle accents appeared to grow from the ground, lining the entirety of the aisle, creating a breath-taking pathway for the bride and groom as they made their way to cocktail hour. Lavish soft seating, styled with grand arrangements in chinoiserie vessels were a highlight of cocktail hour, providing a comfortable landing place for guests to mingle.
Inside the reception tent, guest’s eyes are immediately drawn to the suspended floral installation over the head table, dripping with stunning blue and white blooms and animated trailing greenery. Below, the head table is styled with darling vignettes of monobotanical arrangements in chinoiserie bud vases mixed among larger, flower-forward arrangements. Flooding the tablescape with candlelight were floating and taper candles surrounded by decorative votives. The guest tables were equally as stunning, designed with two different concepts, each celebrating the beautiful colors and textures of coastal New England.
The first guest table design concept consisted of bountiful blue and white blooms such as hydrangea, campanula, and ranunculus designed in a rattan compote, surrounded by a collection of specialty candlelight including twinking taper candles, and crystal and cane wrapped votives. The second concept for the guest tables were a quintet of petite arrangements designed in vintage blue and white chinoiserie bud vases, styled alongside taper candlelight at varied heights, and sparkling votives to envelop the tablescape in a bright, romantic glow.
The iconic Castle Hill Inn, with its oceanside ceremony site, and newly renovated reception tent played the perfect host for A+I’s late-july wedding. The thoroughly thought out design plan created an atmosphere that was flower-forward, and completely immersive. Our designers showcased the best the Ocean State has to offer in this celebration of soft summer blues and fresh, fluffy hydrangea. The day was truly magical, creating the classic romantic environment the couple envisioned.
