Evolving Designs at Rosecliff
In mid-July of 2024, E+M tied the knot in style at Newport’s historic Rosecliff Mansion. Team Stoneblossom worked closely with the couple, and Lisa at Infinite Events, to curate a design plan that married together a quintessential white wedding with a celebration of color at cocktail hour, transitioning back to a softer, muted palette once the guests entered the ballroom for dinner. At Stoneblossom, we love to incorporate different color palettes and design styles in separate event spaces during the wedding day. Our designers were more than delighted to bring this vision to life!
The ceremony site, overlooking the ocean, created the natural backdrop for the stunning full-floral chuppah. The 4 post structure was beautifully adorned in stark white blooms of roses, delphinium, campanula, and hydrangea. The flowers were tucked into organic greenery to create lavish white layers of lush blossoms. Framing the entrance of the aisle were two urns overflowing with bountiful white blooms. The entry arrangements created an impactful first impression and elegantly accentuated the focal point of the chuppah. We leaned into a crisp, clean color palette for the ceremony to truly give this space its own distinctive feel from the other spaces within the venue.
After the bride and groom shared their first kiss under the picturesque chuppah, the party moved over to cocktail hour, where we allowed bold and bright colors to be the star of the space. Vintage green chinoiserie vessels were filled to the brim with bright blooms in fuchsia, pink, and green shades. For the place card table, we designed a larger-than-life urn arrangement that popped against the stark white marble of the terrace at Rosecliff. This show-stopping design incorporated roses, spilling amaranthus, and nerine lilies, providing fun texture to this bold & punchy piece. Another fun floral moment was the two umbrellas, which we adorned with hot pink hydrangea growing up from the base, and underneath the dome of the umbrella, creating a bold, yet lush center of attention in the cocktail hour space.
As guests floated from the cocktail hour space, into the Grand Ballroom, the color palette shifted once more, to truly allow the space to speak for itself. Drawing inspiration from the gilded halls, floral designs incorporating whites, creams, and touches of blush adorned the tables creating a truly ethereal atmosphere to dine & dance the night away. The head table made a lasting impact on guests as they entered the space; a full floral runner with beautiful dancing blooms ran the length of the table and gracefully cascaded to the floor. Delicately and intentionally tucked throughout the runner were varied candle styles that provided the space with glistening radiance. Round guest tables were designed with two centerpiece concepts, one high and one low, to provide visual interest and dimension in the space. Stunning seasonal blooms such as sweet pea, ranunculus, and orlaya made up the floral compositions, providing a sweet and romantic feel to the design. Surrounding the floral-forward centerpieces were shimmering groupings of crystal candles that flooded the tablescape with a warm glow.
From conception to execution, the vision of E+M was carefully thought through to create 3 separate unique event experiences throughout the day of their wedding. From the traditional white wedding ceremony to the punchy cocktail hour and the lavish design of the ballroom, guests were welcomed by stunning floral designs at each turn. At Stoneblossom we believe that your wedding should be customized to you, and who you are as a couple. E+M’s wedding is a perfect example of following your heart when it comes to the design and decor of your special day.
