Designs of Grandeur at Rosecliff

In early September of last year, Stoneblossom had the pleasure of teaming up with Infinite Events to bring the timeless, ethereal, and elegant vision of C+J to Newport’s Rosecliff Mansion. The Gilded Age manor and the surrounding grounds overlooking the ocean were the perfect host to the celebration of pastel petals that created the lush and lavish design of the wedding. An ethereal and intentional color palette of pinks and lavenders with hints of cream and white popped against the stark marble of the Rosecliff facade.

At Stoneblossom we love to think outside of the box with our clients and planners! Something unique about this wedding was the decision to flip the ceremony site at Rosecliff. Typically, the ceremony site overlooks the ocean views at the end of the lawn, but C+J envisioned a larger-than-life, lush arbor centered in front of the fountain just behind the mansion. Our tall, cathedral-style arbor was nothing less of a show-stopper against the newly renovated Rosecliff. We based the arbor with animated, organic greenery, and filled it with abundant mixed blooms featuring lavender delphinium, pink hydrangeas, and creamy garden roses. The cherry on top of this ceremony was that golden hour was hitting just as the bride was walking down the aisle; it was truly a vision from a dream.

After C+J said their vows and floated back down the floral-lined aisle, they met their guests for cocktails on the terrace. Beautiful sparkling candlelight illuminated the marble stairs leading up to the patio and provided a warm romantic glow for the entirety of cocktail hour. Sprawling greenery, gorgeous lavender clematis, and other seasonal blooms in the color palette, organically swooped down the semi-circle bars, tying together the overall design into the cocktail hour space.

Moving inside to the ballroom, the elegance & grandeur of the manor was accentuated by our crystal cut candelabras, filled with bountiful blooms in pastel pinks and purples, with hints of mauve and cream. The alternating heights of the round table arrangements created dimension and visual delight across the room, which was flooded with warm, twinkling candlelight. The head table was the main focal point under the hand-painted mural of the ceiling in the ballroom. A lush floral runner of fragrant roses and hydrangea puddled to the floor and created a show-stopping effect as guests viewed it from the dance floor. Tucked between this lavish table runner were two crystal candelabras overflowing with blooms to add height and interest.

From organic greens climbing the staircase to the plethora of pastel blooms and ethereal candlelight that lit up the manor, C+J’s timeless and romantic design plan looked right at home amongst the beautiful, historical backdrop of Rosecliff Manor. We take the utmost care and pride in our designs and approach the execution of on-site set-ups in these historical monuments with the greatest care and respect. We are blessed to be able to beautify some of the most history-rich buildings in our backyard of Newport, RI, and cannot wait to see what our clients dream up next!
