A Picture Perfect Day in Newport

When you picture the “perfect” wedding, what do you see? Do you see an intimate ceremony in a historic stone chapel, followed by dinner and dancing in the grand ballroom of a Gilded Age estate? For S+R, that is exactly what they pictured! The couple exchanged their vows at the gorgeous Emmanuel church in Newport, then made their way to the famous Rosecliff mansion to dance the night away with their closest friends and family. The talented Erica Trombetti collaborated with the couple and team Stoneblossom to curate the overall event vision and design plan. To truly bring together the vision of their picture perfect wedding, S+R chose a delicate palette of white, cream, peach, blush, lavender and soft blue blooms.

The celebration started at the chapel, where guests were greeted by a stunning floral installation that appeared to organically frame the arched entryway into the church. A myriad of lush greenery and luscious blooms set the tone for the evening and created a breathtaking entry point for the ceremony. Inside the chapel, the long aisle to the altar was fully lined with stunning floral arrangements composed of campanula, delphinium, roses, and snapdragon. The plethora of pastel petals gently brushed the bride’s gown as she floated down the aisle to her betrothed. At the altar, 4 gorgeous urn arrangements raised to different heights framed the couple as they shared their first kiss. Following the ceremony, a glamorous vintage Rolls Royce whisked the newlyweds away to Rosecliff for cocktail hour.

At the Rosecliff, S+R were greeted by the opulence and elegance of the historical mansion, now artfully styled with bountiful blooms at every turn. In the ballroom, the eye was immediately drawn to the full floral runner that ran the length of the head table, and spilled over the edge, ending in an abundant pool of blossoms at the base of the table. This luxurious runner was composed of garden roses, hydrangea, clematis, and sweet pea, to create a full, yet whimsical, garden-like feel.  Candlelight flooded the head table with a mix of cut crystal candelabras, floating candles, and textured crystal votives to truly bring the tablescape to life.

The guest tables in the Grand Ballroom were just as grand as the head table. Using two different design concepts to create visual interest within the space, we brought the room to life utilizing a cohesive color story and a carefully curated collection of candlelight styled on each table. Half of the tables were adorned with a gorgeous, low compote arrangement designed in a cut crystal vessel, overflowing with organic foliage and fragrant blooms of cream, blush, lavender and soft blue. The other arrangements were raised on crystal stands, adding height to the ballroom. The sweetheart table was centered in front of the grand fireplace which was artfully styled with pillar candlelight and clusters of florals. The fireplace acted as the perfect backdrop for the newlyweds at their table, surrounded by a growing garden of florals enveloping the base of the table. Different levels of sparkling candlelight flooded the table in a warm romantic glow.

The overall vision of the day translated seamlessly from start to end, highlighting the existing beauty of both the chapel and the ballroom at Rosecliff. At Stoneblossom we strive to create a fully immersive event experience for our couples and their guests, and take pride in executing flawless weddings time and time again. Each wedding is a story, and as florists, it is our job to translate the story of each couple through artful bespoke floral design and meticulous attention to detail.
